The BlueFeed Sanitizer (Chrome extension) · Effective 19 October 2026
Short version: The BlueFeed Sanitizer does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. Everything it does happens inside your own browser, on your own computer.
The BlueFeed Sanitizer filters your Facebook feed. It hides posts, comments and images that contain keywords you choose, or images that an AI model running on your computer identifies as sexual, drug-related or violent content, according to your settings.
| Data | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Text of Facebook posts and comments you view | To check for your keywords | Read in your browser only; not stored or sent anywhere |
| Images in Facebook posts you view | To check them with the on-device AI model | Analysed in your browser only; never uploaded |
| Your settings, keywords and uploaded keyword lists | So the filter remembers your choices | Saved in Chrome's local extension storage on your computer |
| Your “Not a problem?” reports (allowed phrases, muted keywords, allowed posts, and numeric fingerprints of images you marked as OK) | So the filter avoids repeating the same mistakes | Saved locally on your computer; image fingerprints are lists of numbers, not the images themselves |
The extension makes only one kind of outside request: a one-time download of the AI model files (about 150 MB)
from Hugging Face (huggingface.co), a public model hosting service. No information about you or your browsing is sent with this request
beyond what any browser sends when downloading a file (such as your IP address, which Hugging Face handles under its own privacy policy).
After the first download the model is stored on your computer and loaded from there.
Facebook images are loaded from Facebook's own servers (fbcdn.net), just as Facebook itself loads them, so they can be analysed locally.
You can clear learned exceptions at any time from the extension's popup. Removing the extension from Chrome deletes all of its stored data, including settings, keyword lists and the saved AI model.
The extension does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
